YLP Co-Sponsors Singapore International Water Week Events
IDA YLP co-sponsored two events during Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) 2016. These events included the Membrane Society in Singapore (MEMSIS) inaugural symposium, “Membrane Innovations in Water Desalination and Reuse: Material Science, Process Engineering, Energetics, and Environmental Impact” on July 9, and the Young Water Leaders Summit (YWLS), held from July 10 to 12. The IDA YLP proudly sponsored the MEMSIS speakers’ dinner and YWLS networking lunch events, and appreciates having had the opportunity to share YLP objectives and IDA membership benefits with attendees.
MEMSIS, a non-profit organization which promotes the exchange of ideas between stakeholders in membrane science and technology, organized a one-day inaugural symposium to discuss membrane research, development, and applications in water desalination and reuse. The event provided a forum of exchange for the global membrane community. In addition to the IDA YLP, the event was supported by Singapore Membrane Technology Centre (SMTC) of Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Membrane Science and Technology Consortium (MSTC) of National University of Singapore (NUS), Environmental & Water Technology Centre of Innovation (EWTCOI) of Ngee Ann Polytechnic, and the National Water Agency of Singapore (PUB). The YWLS was an event designed by young water professionals, for young water professionals, with the aim to profile the global water industry as an exciting and innovative sector, inspire career development in the water industry, and connect young leaders with role models in the industry. The event drew about 90 young leaders from 24 countries. Details can be found at www.siww.com.sg/about-summit.
